María Elena Hernández Hernández is a woman labour and human rights defender from the Ejido of Don Samuel Escárcega in the State of Campeche. María Elena accompanies the ejido authorities of the Union of Ejidos in Defence of the Mayan Territory (Unión de Ejidos en Defensa del Territorio Maya) in agrarian, criminal and public complaints processes for which she has faced risks since February 2021.
